The novelty has worn off in a good way. The identity question gets quieter.
Mental clarity is more consistent
The fog that lifts in the first month tends to stay lifted by month two. Working memory, focus duration, and task switching often feel more reliable. Less of the day is spent recovering from yesterday.
Social patterns are adjusting
The people who would have pushed back have usually pushed back by now. The events that needed to be skipped or restructured have started to find their new shape. This is the first month where being sober at things stops feeling like a project.
The body is asking less and noticing more
Cravings tend to lower in frequency and intensity through the second month for most people. Body awareness in the other direction, noticing tension, hunger, fatigue as they happen, tends to sharpen.
Two months is enough time to feel a difference and not enough time to take it for granted. Both are useful.
